Movie Review 5: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Before I get to the review, let me tell you a little story... It's about 6 teenage girls, who are headed to see Catching Fire (see where this is headed?). First they went to their local Red Robin, where the waitress took forever getting their bills. Then, while cutting it close went to the local movie theatre and got in line to buy tickets for Catching Fire. Two of the girls had already bought their tickets earlier so they went in to find seats. While the other four waited in line, they made the announcement, that "The Hunger Games is sold out!" and repeated it twice, fans then corrected the announcer. We then went to get the two friends who were inside, and they said that there were no seats anyway. We all bought tickets for the final showing of the night. we were up until like 1 a.m. And, it wasn't very crowded. Now the review...
O.M.G!! Absolutely loved it! Wow! way better than the first one! It was way closer to the book than the first, yes the first was close, however I enjoyed this one soo much more. Jennifer Lawrence does such an amazing job portraying Katniss, and Francis Lawrence has done amazing with the direction/ing of the film, and I cannot wait to see MockingJay part 1 and 2. Ok, Jennifer's facial expressions were awesome!! I loved the elevator scene! Her face! LOL! and then the end, ahhh! I have several things to say, 1. MAGS!! (I know she dies, but it is way more emotional than I pictured, loved it!) 2. Gale! (whipping scene!) 3. Peeta 4. Katniss, kick Snow's butt next time you see him! AHHH! Anyway, 5 stars and I loved it! It was as close to the book as you could get without it being a word for word 27 hour copy of the book. AMAZING!
On another note, I will have at least one review up this weekend, (hopefully). I am soo sorry I have not put anything up recently, and thank you for being patient. I really appreciate it!

Be, Room, Cliffing tag, created by Christina @ polandbananasBOOKS

So, Christina from polandbananasBOOKS created this tag. Basically it is a girl's version of the Marry, Kiss, Cliff tag. Here is the link to the original video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgdoDEVTq5E

I want to do this before I forget, at least on here, and hopefully I will be able to do a video version soon. So, here it goes...

ROUND 1:
Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)
The Queen (Maxon's mom in the Selection, cannot remember her name, sorry. lol)
Juliet (Shatter Me)

I would want to be Katniss, even though she has a hard life, she is down to earth, and most people respect her.
I would want to room with the Queen, she is very understanding, and I have a feeling that she would give great advice.
So, Juliet, dare I say it, will be heading off the Cliff, sorry, but, I just can't take a chance on accidentally bumping into you in our room, and not being able to be touched, or touch anyone, would suck. Anyway, on to round two!

ROUND 2:
Tris (Divergent)
Angel (Maximum Ride)
Lucy (Ashes, Ashes)

I would want to be.. This is HARD, I want to be both Tris and Angel. Ok, I'll be Tris, self explanatory.
I would room with Lucy, and she could teach me how to survive in the ruins of New York, and I could teach her how to throw knives, since you know,I'm Tris, oh, doesn't count, oh well .
And Angel will be going off the cliff, but it's ok, because she can fly, so, she would proabably, read my mind(spoiler) and see as to what I am thinking, and go jump and just fly away, so it's all good.

ROUND 3:
Gemma (Dark Life)
Charlotte (Charlotte's Web)
Lina (City of Ember)

I would want to be, Gemma, and I already fit her partly, (fear of the ocean(Kinda).
I would room with Lina.
And poor Charlotte is headed off the cliff, sorry, but I hate spiders (yes, I know that this is a children's book).

ROUND 4:
The White Queen (Alice's Adventures In Wonderland)
Queen Levana (Cinder)
Petra (Ender's Game)

I would want to be Petra, she is very cool, at least to me, so tuff, yet, compassionate too.
I would room with the White Queen, again awesome.
And Levana is going off the cliff, so evil!

ROUND 5:
Johanna (The Hunger Games)
Deuce (Enclave)
Cinder (Cinder)

I would be Cinder, because out of the she has the easiest life.
I would room with Johanna.
And Deuce is going over the cliff.

ROUND 6:
Celeste (The Selection)
Karana (Island of the Blue Dolphins)
Christina (Divergent)

I would be Chrstina, even though she has had a tuff time.
Karana od my roommate.
Celeste is over the cliff!

ROUND 7:
Kacey (How to Rock Braces and Glasses)
The Red Queen (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)
America Singer (The Selection)

I would be America.
I would room with Kacey.
The I would push The Red Queen over the cliff.

ROUND 8:
Lena (Delirium)
Alice (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)
Mackenzie (Awkward)

I would be Alice.
I would room with Mackenzie.
And Lena is headed over the cliff.

ROUND 9:
Nudge (Maximum Ride)
Max (Maximum Ride)
Jeanine (Divergent)

I would want to be Max.
I would room with Nudge, Which she does in the books, ironic?
And Jeanine is Definitely heading over the cliff, but as smart as she was, she probably has some giant trampoline at the bottom, or some technology that will save her but, what ever.

Thanks again!

MovieReview #4: Ender's Game

Saw Ender's Game tonight, and may I say that I was quite let down. I went into it with high expectations and came out very disappointed. It was extremely slow and not very true too the book. Even though there were some scenes that were similar to the book , nothing was how I had hoped it would turn out. Even the ending was not the same as the book. If you are looking for something that will ride close to the book, THIS IS NOT IT!! excuse my yelling manner, but I want to get the point across, Ender's Game the movie was not nearly as good as the book. If you are just wanting something to go do, to just hang out with your friends, that doesn't have a lot of language in it, or you have a couple of hours to waste, I suggest this movie, I do not suggest this movie if you are a fan of the book, and want to see it have justice in the theater, than this is not for you. However, it is up to you whether you take the chance on it or not. I took a chance and was let down. If you have seen it, let me know what you thought; Did you like it? Hate it? Indifferent? Also, think about the work that was put into making this movie, even though this was not done well in my opinion, a lot of people worked very hard on this movie, so kudos to the cast and crew! Thank you!

A Hunger Games theme park?!

I recently read that Lionsgate is considering starting a Hunger Games Theme park. There has not been much released, but from just the idea of this I am very surprised! I mean, The whole HG idea is kids killing kids, and in my opinion all of it is just not theme park material. I mean, what theme would it be, the arena, and the park, would be hunting the other players down!? I mean come on, I think this is going a little too far. But that is just me. What do you think?

Movie review #3: The Croods

I saw The Croods last night and I thought it was adorable! It was funny all the way through. I felt like I connected to Eep, and what she goes through with her inner self and her family. There were times when I thought that is was a little intense, especially for kids. I loved Belt and Mawcarnivore, it was like a bobble head! Too cute! It was one of those watch it for the kids type movie, and then never watch it again. Lol. I love the character build up and the end results of the family relationship. I enjoyed it and so did my mom and sister. Our favorite parts were the ones that included the animals. Even if you are an adult I would at least check this movie out. Thanks! and kudos the cast, and drew!

Movie Review #2: Gravity

Last weekend I went with some friends and saw Gravity starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. I didn't know what to expect from this movie, however,  was somewhat disappointed. I thought is was going to be more intense than it was, it was more so, suspenseful than intense. There were quite a few sad or depressing moments through out the story. I was intrigued by the story and thought that for it being a movie taking place in space, it was well done. I also think that for the time period that it took to make the movie (4 years), the 3D could have been better, like maybe ,the characters could be floating over our heads, or the debris could come out further. Overall, very good, but, could have been better. There was a lot of spinning, which occasionally made me feel nauseous. I also had trouble focusing on one point during parts of the movie, the scenes to me were at times fuzzy, and out of focus. I most likely would not see this movie again, however for seeing it once, I enjoyed it. For the amount of work and effort put into making this film, I have to give kudos to the director, cast, and crew. So Kudos to you!
