Book review 31: Never Fall Down by Patricia McCormick

This book was very emotional. My "feels" scale went from 0-100 then back again. It was a roller-coaster of feels! It is based off of the true story of Arn. It is somewhat gory, and violent, and there language, but take into consideration that this is based on a true story. The story takes place around 1980 in Cambodia. IT is Arn's story of survival during the genocide by the Khmer Rouge. I received this book from Epic Reads, from a giveaway they were hosting earlier this year, and even though it took me a while to finish it, there were so many questions I had about the story and I wanted to know more, once I did. Arn Chorn-Pond has done so much to release the hostages that were still held by the Khmer Rouge in the 1980's and 90's. And take care of those in need. He continues to visit his home and is in contact with those who survived the genocide. He created the Cambodian Living Arts Foundation and received funding for it in 1998. I don't recommend this book to those who are under 15 (or 16), and to those who have a weak stomach. However it was a very enlightening, and informational read.
