A little about me

Hello again!

Since it’s been SO long, let’s get to know each other!

My name is Morgan, I’m a twenty-something year old who has her Esthetics license but has barely worked in a spa. I would love to become a full time makeup artist and am always trying to stay up to date on current trends. Currently, I’m a sub secretary at a school district. I love musicals and haven’t seen nearly enough of them. I’m obsessed with anything Marvel, primarily Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier.  I’m learning Romanian (slowly but surely), and have several other languages I want to learn. I dream of traveling and possibly one day moving to Romania!

I’ve always enjoyed reading but change interests to often made it hard to find books that kept me interest and reading. UNTIL I read The Hunger Games in school, my love for reading took off after that! I was attending book signings, was in contact with authors all over and even record severs ARCs of books. While my interest in reading never left, I did hit a huge slump that started to dissipate during the pandemic, it didn’t last long though, I went back to work and even switched jobs multiple times. Between that and the volunteer work I help with I didn’t have time for much else.

I started The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes early last year and refused to see the movie until I finished it. Finally at the end of the year I finished the book (I still haven’t seen the movie though). That book 100% pulled me out of my reading slump and I immediately jumped back into finishing my current reads as well as my TBR. I’ve finished 5 books in total so far and have a goal of at least 52 this year!

What type of books do I read? I mainly stick to YA-dystopian, however I occasionally branch into mystery, fantasy, romance, etc. I don’t read anything with supernatural beings like vampires, werewolves, demons, witches etc. I also stay away from full fledged zombie stories.

I know I have hard time finding books that I’m comfortable reading, that keep me interested. So I do heavy research on the books I read before hand and try to give you as many details as possible without spoiling the ending. So if you love to read and aren’t into the supernatural side of booktok, or you’re just looking for some family friendly reads, let’s be friends!

I will be posting reviews of the books I finish, however the format or the grouping might vary, I’m finishing a lot of series this year, so I’m deciding between series reviews or individual book reviews. If you want one way or the other let me know (or maybe even both?). I’ll also be posting my reviews on Instagram/Facebook, and I’ll be attempting to do video reviews of some as well. Instagram/Facebook will probably see more reviews from me faster than here, but they will be here too!

All this to say, that while I’ll be posting reviews I have no idea when or how often. They might come in groups or they might be spread out, but be patient and keep reading!

“It’s been way too long!” And other things I need to say..

HELLO!!

How are you!? It’s been what four going on FIVE years!? Wow has time flown by!

First, let me just say that I’ve missed you! Things have been crazy the last five years and here’s what I’ve been up to..

1. Job hopping.. I switched jobs several times (everything from retail to an esthetician in a spa and back to retail to a sub secretary) as well as working in a full time volunteer work.

2. Quite honestly I hit a second HUGE reading slump right after the Heir by Kiera Cass (it wasn’t the book’s fault!), and lost interest in every book I was reading, to the point I let go of over half of my collection. Which I’m now wanting to rebuild.

3. I was running out of time and energy to get everything done during the day and something had to go, so that was reading.

Now, I’m sure you’re wondering, “If so much was/is going on, why are you back now?”

Well, once again The Hunger Games series has saved the day and pulled me out of my reading slump! I finished The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes at the end of 2024 beginning of 2025 and wanted to jump right back into finishing my current TBR as well as continue adding to and completing it as long as I can.

So, what’s coming in 2025?
Basically, while I’m not removing my prior posts, I’m starting from scratch here, so please bear with me as I get reacquainted with Blogger, reviews and start getting to know all of you once again! And I will only be doing book reviews, despite prior movies in addition to books.
I set my Goodreads goal as 52 books this year, which will basically clear out by paper TBR pile, but I’m hoping to get more in. I have 5 done already!!
So follow me on Goodreads and on Instagram for all the latest updates! Honestly they’ll probably be there before they’re here.
Stay tuned for 5 new reviews in the upcoming weeks and many more to come after that, I just can’t promise when exactly 😅.
If you have any suggestions of books to add to my TBR, books I’ve mentioned that I haven’t gotten to, or one you would like me to revisit, leave a comment or message me on Insta! I’ll try and check in here on Blogger at least once a week.

My next post will be getting to know everyone once again!
