Book Review 29: Four: A Divergent Collection by Veronica Roth

This book was a great read! I loved seeing into Four's mind, where he started and what he went through up to where we meet him. Veronica Roth did a great job of telling his story. I completed this book in about four days total. So, I though I might break this review down to the smaller stories, the first of which is:
The Transfer:
I can't say a lot without giving details away, but I can tell you that it was a better intro to Tobias' life in Abnegation than I had expected. You see what more of what he went through with his father, and you see his thinking on leaving. It also introduces you to some of  the characters you know in Divergent, but before they were rough and tough and truly hated (ex. Eric, and Max). You also meet Zeke, Shauna, Marlene, Lauren, Tori, Uriah, and Amar. You also see how Four got his name...

The Initiate:
You see Four getting used to Dauntless, and you see small friendships form. You also see enemies arise, that threaten to destroy him. You see him rise to the top while others fall. And you see how he gains the determination to protect those he cares about, and the strength he needs to do it.

The Son:
In this story, you see Four, settling into his new apartment, and trying to fit in as much as possible. You meet someone you never expected. And he also gets a suspicion that sets him on his course...

The Traitor:
Four is now spying on the people that he is supposed to trust, the people meant to lead him, and the other Dauntless, some of whom he calls friends. You start to see just how far he is willing to go to get the truth and you see the beginning of Divergent. You also, see the start of his relationship with Tris...

All in Four's perspective.




The stories were amazing and I recommend them to anyone who love the Divergent Series. Seriously check this book out!

Book Review 28: The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

This book was amazing! I said in my Goodreads review that it will most likely be considered a classic in years to come, along side The Hunger Games and the Divergent trilogy. Rick Yancey is a genius. Even though parts of this book were confusing, it was an amazing read. Cassie is the hero that I would want to be in her situation. Evan is the perfect guy, even with his quirks (a 8.5 out of 10 on my scale). I can't wait to get into The Infinite Sea. There isn't really language in it, although the f-bomb is dropped once, the rest is mild and rarely used. Cassie goes through normal teenager stuff (feelings, problems, etc.) all while surviving an alien apocalypse. And she starts to fall for someone she is not sure she can trust, all the while trying to keep a promise she made...
She is sarcastic, strong willed, weak, kind, understanding, and trusting, all while questioning everything and everyone. The characters in this book are all very relate-able, and you can connect to any of them. What they go through is extremely similar to what teens/young adults, kids, and even adults go through today, but in a alien apocalypse setting. I highly recommend this book, but you may want to get The Infinite Sea along with it!

Book Reviews 26 & 27: Endurance by Ann Aguirre and Hive & Heist by Janine A. Southard

Endurance by Anne Aguirre: This book is Thimble's and Stone's perspective right after Deuce and Fade go on the long walk. It shows how the enclave falls, and is destroyed. This is Thimble, Stone and Boy23's story of survival. It covers some of the hardships they had to face and the ways that they had to adapt. Even though I still need to finish the trilogy, this book was really well written (except for a few grammar errors here and there), and it is always great to see a different side of the story. I really like it and if you read it you will too. It is available, on GooglePlay, and possibly wherever you buy your e-books. So, here is the synopsis...

When rebellion destroys the underground world in which Thimble and Stone have grown up, they take Stone’s son and try to escape the chaos. Along the way, they must evade the Freaks, beings who feed on human flesh. Hive & Heist  by Janine A. Southard: So this was one of the books I received for a book tour this past summer, and wasn't able to finish right away, and then I forgot. So, here it is now. Hive & Heist, the second book in The Hive Queen Saga, was really interesting. I loved the development of the characters, and the story picked up almost exactly where the first left off. There were things that I didn't expect in it, and I had to keep reading all the way to the end. I couldn't stop until it was done! And now, I want more, so, when the next book comes out, I will be one of the first to get it. If you don't know what I am talking about The book, Queen & Commander was book one, and I read it this past summer, I really enjoyed it and since I had received the second as well, I just continued to love the saga. They are available as e-books wherever you buy your e-books. Book Review 25: The Fear Trials by Lindsay Cummings

The Fear Trials is a short novella set before The Murder Complex takes place it is the training that Meadow receives from her father preparing her for the battle she will have to face later on. It shows how dark her world is and how the tragedy that has set in has affected her and her family. I loved this book just as much as The Murder Complex. It is available as an e-book almost anywhere. If you loved The Murder Complex, then you will most likely love The Fear Trials as well. Or maybe you are just getting into the trilogy and want to read all the books right when they come out, (I know that is what I do), than go ahead and get it! The Murder Complex available as a e-book.
